At Outrank, we believe that great work starts with great people and great people need support, balance, and purpose to thrive. As we mark World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to reflect on how we continue to make wellbeing a priority across our business, every single day.
What Is World Mental Health Day?
Every year on 10th October, World Mental Health Day raises awareness and drives conversations about mental wellbeing around the globe. The theme for this year ‘mental health as a universal human right’, reminds us that everyone deserves access to understanding, support, and the chance to feel their best.
Mental health affects every part of our lives: our work, our relationships, our creativity, and our confidence. Recognising that is the first step towards building workplaces where people can be open, supported, and happy to be themselves.
Why Mental Health Matters at Outrank
We’re proud to have been recognised as one of the Top 3 Great Places to Work, listed among The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, and named in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing awards. We’ve also been shortlisted for Best Agency Culture at the Agency Awards, achievements that mean a lot to us because they reflect something bigger than business success.
They show that we’ve built an environment where people feel valued, respected, and inspired. That’s what makes Outrank special, not just what we do for our clients, but what we do for each other.
How We Support Mental Health and Wellbeing
Our culture is built on trust, communication, and care. From the leadership team to every department, we make sure mental health support is part of our everyday routine.
Here’s how we do it:
- Open, supportive culture: We encourage conversations about well-being, both in and outside of work. No topic is off-limits, and no one ever has to face challenges alone.
- Flexible working: We understand that life doesn’t stop at 9 to 5. Our flexible approach helps team members balance professional goals and personal well-being.
- Dedicated wellbeing resources: Inspired by initiatives like Vitality Champions, we share guidance, practical advice, and access to tools that help our team stay physically and mentally healthy.
- Recognition and reward: Whether we’re celebrating milestones, achievements, or personal wins, we ensure that effort is noticed and appreciated.
- Growth and learning: Supporting mental health also means helping people grow — through personal development, career progression, and skill-building opportunities.
The Power of a Positive Environment
At Outrank, culture isn’t an afterthought, it’s at the heart of everything we do. From team events and collaborative projects to spontaneous celebrations, we make sure everyone feels part of something bigger.
We know that a positive, connected workplace helps boost motivation, creativity, and mental well-being. That’s why we invest time and effort into building genuine relationships and a strong sense of community within our team.
Our “Bring Your Dog to Work” Policy
One of our favourite wellbeing initiatives? Our “Bring Your Dog to Work” policy.
We know how much joy and comfort our furry friends bring, whether it’s a wagging tail after a meeting or a quick walk outside to reset your mind. Studies show that dogs in the workplace can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve social interaction and we see those benefits daily.
It’s just one of the many ways we make our workspace feel welcoming, relaxed, and human.
Celebrating Together, Supporting Each Other
Being recognised as a Great Place to Work means more than a title, it’s proof that our people come first. We’ve built a culture where collaboration, kindness, and understanding shape how we work.
On World Mental Health Day, we take time to remind ourselves that behind every strategy, campaign, or creative idea, there’s a person and their wellbeing matters most.
Our Ongoing Commitment
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we know that wellbeing is a journey, not a destination. We’ll keep learning, improving, and supporting one another, so every member of the Outrank team feels empowered to do their best work and live their best life.
