This partnership was inspired by the success of our recent charity football match with fellow North East tech leaders and rivals, Alt Labs, a match that not only brought out our competitive streaks but also shone a powerful spotlight on an organisation that does vital work for our local community every single day.
A Match That Meant More Than Football
In May, we joined forces with Alt Labs to host a charity football match like no other. It wasn’t just about goals, glory, or bragging rights (though we’ll admit, Alt Labs have those for now). It was about coming together for a greater cause: raising funds and awareness for Teesside Hospice.
The day was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and an overwhelming sense of community. Teams, supporters, friends, families, and local businesses gathered in the spirit of giving. From a crowd-cheering penalty shootout to raffles and post-match celebrations, the event raised much-needed funds and awareness for the hospice.
But the biggest takeaway wasn’t the final score, it was the stories we heard, the people we met, and the realisation of how much this local charity means to those it serves.
And yes, next year’s rematch is already confirmed, and you can be sure Outrank will be turning up stronger, faster, and hungrier for that trophy. Watch this space: 2026 is our year.

Why We’re Supporting Teesside Hospice
Teesside Hospice is more than a charity. It’s a lifeline.
For over 40 years, the hospice has provided specialist palliative care and emotional support to people living with terminal illnesses, as well as their families and carers. Whether in their purpose-built hospice building in Linthorpe or through outreach in people’s homes, Teesside Hospice is there—offering comfort, dignity, and compassion during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Their services include:
- Inpatient Care: Expert medical care and comfort for patients in need of symptom management or end-of-life care.
- Wellbeing Centre: Support for patients to live well for longer, with access to therapies, social activities, and clinical advice.
- Bereavement Support: For adults, children, and families dealing with grief, trauma, and loss.
- Community Services: Outreach nursing teams and support in the home so patients can remain in the place they feel most at peace.
What really struck us is how much of this work is made possible only through donations and corporate support. While the hospice receives some government funding, it still relies heavily on the generosity of the local community and businesses to keep its doors open.
In fact, it costs around £18,000 every single day to run Teesside Hospice. That’s why our support is so critical.
