From 2008, Juno Telecoms have been providing internet connectivity and hosted telephony solutions to a number of businesses across the UK. They are experts when it comes to delivering powerful calling and mobility solutions, helping companies and employees to streamline how they communicate both in and out of the office. Juno Telecoms aims to help businesses to lower their costs, improve their mobility and work smarter, their ethos focuses on helping business owners to improve their productivity, profitability and efficiency. Having grown naturally over the last 10 years, the company was keen to take the next step and improve their search results as well as their overall online presence.

Taking a telecommunications provider to the top of the SERPs

After speaking closely with our team, George, Juno Telecoms CEO, purchased a Google My Business optimisation package. The GMB listing picked up and Juno Telecoms started to see an unlift in traffic from new customers through the GMB listing. With a wealth of experience in business communications as well as being home to a team of experts, George was keen to broaden the business’s horizons and grow the website online. George was happy with the current website but felt like it wasn’t getting as much coverage as is could, so we worked alongside him and put together an SEO strategy to help boost the website’s online presence, Google rankings, customer enquiries and conversions.

As a well established telecoms solutions provider who is known for their customer focus, it was important that Juno Telecom’s key values were incorporated into the SEO campaign. So we worked closely alongside George and developed an ongoing strategy that incorporated both the company’s short term and long-term goals.

Content, links and technical – The perfect partnership

The search engine optimisation plan that we put together for Juno Telecoms included content optimisation, technical improvements and link outreach. The content part of the strategy involved writing new optimised service and location pages, these would be added to the site over a longer period of time, slowly but surely introducing new keywords to the site and to Google; this helps to gradually improve the site’s strength as well as making sure that it wasn’t flooded and overloaded with new content all in one go. These new location pages and service pages were all based on a range of research including keywords, related, semantic terms and competitor research. The pages also focused on key city locations across the UK, as well as content that incorporated national terms. We also worked on improving and expanding on the current content, assessing what was and wasn’t working; helping to improve the overall rankings for pages.

The technical aspects of the SEO plan for Juno Telecoms included a range of optimisation work to the website itself. This covered speed improvements, where we would install new and update current website plugins, as well as reducing file and image sizes. FAQ schema is a schema that is added to FAQs that feature on the site’s pages, it’s an essential part of SEO, especially when it comes to a business’s click through rate on Google rankings. When a FAQ schema has been added to a page, it will pull through the FAQs into the metadata on the SERPs. So should customers be looking for answers to a question, when the site shows up in the search engine results, immediately customers can see that the business is displaying a list of frequently asked questions before they even visit the website and this will encourage that all-important user click through. Local business schema was also an essential part of Juno Telecom’s optimisation plan, when local business schema markup is used in a site it instantly communicates to Google that this website is a local business, as well as highlighting the area that it is based in, this provides added strength to the website which Google will favour, especially when considering Juno Telecom’s competitors.

Another vital part of any SEO strategy involves ongoing link outreach, link outreach promotes a website’s strength and overall positively affects a site’s Google rankings. We set out a link plan for Juno Telecoms that would include NAP consistent citations, NAP consistent backlinks, guest posting and outreach. All of these links help to enhance Juno Telecom’s organic visibility on Google, as the link campaign goes on, Juno Telecom’s visibility improves and helps to attract more qualified traffic which then increases leads and enquiries.
